Linda Madden was born May 21, 1952 in British Columbia, Canada and is the third child of Fred and Audrey Madden.
Linda grew up in Clearwater, British Columbia surrounded by family and friends. She admired and appreciated the natural beauty the Clearwater outdoors had to offer, often hiking and camping in scenic Wells Gray Park and surrounding areas. It was the beauty of these nature trips that she wanted to capture, which led her to start sketching and introduced her to the art world. Eventually the desire to try different mediums, led Linda to carving.
Linda graduated from Clearwater Secondary School in June 1970 and went on to receive her Bachelor of Education at the University of Victoria. She now resides with her husband and four children in the interior of British Columbia where she teaches elementary school. In addition to teaching and raising a family, Linda's passion of late is playing ladies recreational hockey that remains an invigorating, challenging and rewarding experience.
Linda's artistic background consisted of her natural ability to draw and an enjoyment and appreciation of art classes throughout elementary and secondary school. Her talent for carving has been fostered and supported by her family and blossomed under the apprenticeship of well know artist, Kevin Peters. She continues to explore her creativity in carving antler as well as continuing to explore other mediums such as soapstone with great results.
The Plaza Galleries is proud to present the fine art of Linda Madden.
