Linda Madden
Linda Madden was born in British Columbia in 1952, she currently resides in Clinton, BC Canada.
Linda grew up in Clearwater, BC, where she admired and appreciated the surrounding natural beauty the outdoors had to offer; the splendour of this nature led her to start sketching, which introduced her to the art world. Eventually the desire to try different mediums, led Linda to carving.
Linda received her Bachelor of Education and taught elementary school while her and her husband raised four children in the interior of BC. Her artistic background consisted of her natural ability to draw and an enjoyment and appreciation of art classes throughout her schooling. Her talent for carving has blossomed under the apprenticeship of well known artist Kevin Peters.
This continued appreciation of nature provides endless inspiration for her carvings. Linda is best known for her extraordinary moose antler carvings and has continued to explore other mediums such as soapstone and bighorn in her pieces.
An avid naturalist, Linda uses her knowledge of the local moose population to find the Moose antlers that she works with, which are shed naturally in nature. Spectacularly large antlers are sometimes sourced from Northern BC and as far as Alaska.
The Plaza Galleries in Whistler is proud and pleased to present the works of Linda Madden.
