William D. Higginson
William D. Higginson is an internationally collected Canadian surrealist painter known for transforming emotion into imagery. His work blurs the line between dream and reality, inviting viewers to step into a world where symbolism, memory, and imagination merge. Each piece acts as a quiet conversation, a place where thought and feeling meet on canvas.
Higginson’s paintings are held in private collections across North America, Europe, and Asia, and his exhibitions have consistently drawn collectors and critical acclaim. He has presented numerous sold-out solo shows, establishing a reputation for emotionally resonant works that connect deeply with audiences. In 2024, he was awarded 1st Place in the Surrealize International Art Competition, recognizing his distinctive contribution to contemporary surrealism.
His career includes solo and juried exhibitions such as Reflections at Vancouver’s Chali-Rosso Gallery, as well as features in leading art publications. Blending classical technique with a contemporary sensibility, Higginson creates scenes that balance order and chaos, precision and wonder.
For him, art is not just seen but felt. “A painting,” he says, “should move the viewer the way music does, not just through what it shows, but through what it stirs inside.” His goal is to connect people with the emotional truth beneath the surface of things, transforming imagination into something lasting and real.
